Back to the roots. This motto fits the conversion kit for the R 120 G/S better than probably any other. The kit takes it back to the early days of the GS success story, when the GS was still the G/S. At least, when it comes to the look; the new G/S of course still remains state of the art on a technical level. On the contrary, the weight loss of 6.4 kg compared to the original makes it even easier to handle and more agile.
This live cell therapy was developed by the former Paris-Dakar Rally participant, Fabio Marcaccini. Working in Riccione on the Adriatic, together with his company, Unit, he normally deals with special solutions and prototypes, and now presents this trendy conversion kit as a reference for its design possibilities.
And here's the really special highlight: since the conversion can be completely reversed again in next to no time, it's like the owner has two motorcycles in their garage.

Tank covers
Right tank cover removes quickly from the air filter for maintenance works. The tank bracket is designed so that all tank bags can continue to be used. Light, high-quality hybrid material with carbon fibre reinforcements. Complete set painted in Alpine White with decor and scratch-reducing clear varnish finish.
Seat
Handmade seat with high-quality shell, foam core suitable for long journeys and robust cover. Just like the G/S original, the cover design includes the typical topstiched design. Attaches and removes just like the R 1200 GS original. Available in a choice of Red or Black.
Side cover and rear wheel protection plate
Ultra-light hybrid material with carbon fibre reinforcements. Ready for incorporating (adapter required) the original Vario and aluminium case systems and all Hepco&Becker systems. The original top cases cannot be used. Fully painted with R 120 G/S decor. Available in Matte Black or Alpine White (with clear varnish).
Front wheel mudguard
Can be used as an off-road mudguard (top) or mounted on the bottom of the triple clamp as a lower mudguard. Ultra-light hybrid material with carbon fibre reinforcements. Fully painted and with scratch-reducing clear varnish finish.
Bridging covers silver Design element (R 80 G/S aluminium engine look) and covers the air filter/cables. Fully painted in Matte Silver.
Handlebar mountings
CNC milled with mounting for fittings, stem, etc. Silber anodised.
Headlight
Original R 1200 R reflector and chrome ring with carefully manufactured lamp housing that also secures the fittings. Fully painted in Matte Black; includes lighting and original plug.
Stem frame
Incorporates the entire stem, headlight, indicators, fittings, etc. Precision manufactured stainless steel frame. Coated in silk matte black plastic.
Tail support frame
A reinforcement frame for the tail and luggage rack that is invisible on the entire vehicle. Precision manufactured stainless steel frame. Coated in silk matte black plastic.
Protection bar with oil cooler holder.
High-strength protection bar with additional reinforcement under the cylinder heads. With mountings and protection bar for the new oil cooler. No negative impact on maintenance works, etc. Coated in silk matte black plastic.
Oil cooler and service kit
The conversion requires a different oil cooler design/holder. High-strength cooler with increased cooling performance and especially robust cooling fins. Including bent piping/pressure hose kit in original quality.
Luggage rack
Luggage rack for high sustained loads. With passenger brackets/lifting aid (can also be used for recovering/righting the GS). Covered in silk matte black plastic.
For R 1200 GS (MY 2008-) with black side parts/tail and red seat.
